Shopping for groceries yesterday I overheard someone say "I won't buy GMO'S because it can't be healthy to consume that much DNA."
Normally I would have just ignored someone's comments but she was looking directly at me so I had to reply:
Most of all of the food we eat contains DNA. Really, its just a matter of what kind you're willing to consume. There are benefits such as: herbicide tolerance, insect resistance, increased food supply and a longer shelf life vs. during the GMO process nutritional values may be lost, and other organisms and biodiversity may be changed or harmed.
